Hardware requirements
To run the ISPadmin application a dedicated server is required. The hardware requirements may differ according to the number of managed users. The usage of a high-quality minimum hardware configuration is recommended. ( Configuration suitable for about 1000 users ):

If it is possible, use a hardware controller as RAID. If not, we should be able to set the software raid during the instalation. The size of the system even after a five-year-long operation does not usually exceed 35GB + the backup system data. The data bulk for NetFlow at the operation 200 Mbit/s is about 1,5 GB a day, which is for 180 days (half of a year) approximately 300 GB. | |
| The mechanics is necessary only for the installation of the system and in case of a serious service repair; an external CD-ROM is possible to be used. |
| If you want to connect your own sms gateway to the server and send throught it reminders to the users, plans to the technicians, messages from Nagios about the outages of devices etc., we recommend to purchase a server with this port. Telephone/sms gateway is posiible to connect through USB as well, but the instalation is much more problematic and it is not always possible to activate the device. An optional solution of a missing COM port is also an additional expansion card with COM ports. In this case it is necessary to find out before the purchase whether this particular type is supported by Linux (if there are available drivers) |
In case of a blackout, it is advisable to access the server on a back up source UPS; because a sudden disconnection of the system might cause a damage of the database or of the system itself.
Sometimes a hw raids driver or a network card problem arises. A lot of problems can be solved even when the purchased server is not supported (ie. patch cores, drive compillation, or having made copies of installing archive through the Internet, etc.).
